Welcome to Public Good Generation: A Christian Summer Civic Leadership Experience for Aspiring Change-Makers!

Monday, July 6 - Saturday, July 11, 2026 in Washington D.C.

If you're a rising high school junior, a rising senior, or a graduating senior with a passion for politics, public service, and faith, this is your chance to explore the intersection of Christian faith and civic life in Washington, D.C.!

This five-day immersive experience will connect you with decision-makers and leaders across government, advocacy, and journalism. You'll develop real-world skills by:

  • Creating an issue advertisement to compete against peers, demonstrating civility and conviction.

  • Participating in mock town halls to practice applying what you've learned.

  • Engaging in panels and discussions with inspiring leaders who integrate their faith with their work.

Program Details

Who Can Apply?

  • Rising high school juniors, seniors, and members of high school class of 2026 with an interest in politics, civic leadership, or public service.

  • Applicants should be ready for a safe, challenging, and fun experience at the intersection of faith and civic engagement.

How Do I Apply?

  • Applications are now open. We have two rounds of application deadlines:

    • Early Planners Round: Application open now through December 30, 2025.

      • Decisions on January 23, 2026.

    • General Application: Application open until April 10, 2026.

      • Decisions on April 26, 2026.

  • Apply at the form here.

    • You will be asked to submit a 2-3 minute video (maximum of 3 minutes) describing why you want to participate in this program. Tell us about: 1) You current interests in civic life or politics. 2) Your dreams and interests for the future. 3) What you hope to get out of this program.

When and Where?

  • Dates: Monday, July 6 – Saturday, July 11, 2025.

    • Check-in: 3:00 PM on Monday, July 6.

    • Departure: 2:00 PM on Saturday, July 11.

    • Airport shuttles will be provided for participants flying in.

  • Location: American University, 4400 Massachusetts Ave NW, Washington, D.C.

    • Students will stay in dorm-style rooms with a roommate and shared bathrooms.

    • Each student will have a designated mentor to answer questions and chaperone activities.

How Much Does the Program Cost?

  • Program cost: $975.00 (includes all food, lodging, and programming).

  • Transportation to and from D.C. is the responsibility of participants and their families.

    • Airport shuttles will be provided for participants flying in.

What Can I Expect?

Our program is designed to challenge and inspire you — combining rigorous academic sessions, hands-on experiences, meaningful community, and fun explorations in Washington, D.C. Here is what you can expect as you step into the week. 

  • Engaging Learning
    Participate in daily lectures, discussions, and workshops led by scholars and civic leaders. Expect to think deeply about how faith shapes public life and to be challenged in a fast-paced, intellectually rich environment.

  • Hands-On Practice
    Apply what you learn through interactive workshops, an evening town hall, and team projects that strengthen your leadership and communication skills. Throughout the week, you’ll also work with a team to create a powerful video issue ad that communicates with both conviction and kindness. 

  • Community and Reflection
    Grow in faith and friendship through prayer, small-group reflection, and shared experiences that build character and deepen connection. You’ll journey through the week with a small group of students like you, led by a mentor who is a young professional living out their faith in the public. 

  • Exploring D.C.
    Take learning beyond the classroom with visits to Capitol Hill, the National Archives museum, and a nighttime tour of the city’s iconic monuments and historic landmarks.

  • A Week of Challenge and Joy
    Prepare for full, engaging days that combine rigorous learning with meaningful community and unforgettable fun in the nation’s capital.
