Tim Szarnicki
Founding Executive Director, The Affordability Project
Tim Szarnicki is San Francisco native who has dedicated his professional career serving San Francisco communities. Working for HandsOn Bay Area, The St. Vincent de Paul Society of San Francisco, ICA Cristo Rey, and now as the Founding Executive Director of The Affordability Project--building affordable housing for teachers, nurses, first responders, nonprofit professionals, and city workers--Tim credits his Mom and Dad’s efforts to instill a deep respect and appreciation for the Common Good and fifteen years of Catholic and Jesuit education for inspiring his commitment to lead a life of service. Bringing diverse communities together to solve problems together and invest in sustainable, long-term partnerships is his passion. He has raised over $150 million over the last twenty years to support the direct services in his community and beyond. His approach is simple: be the conduit and steward between the need and the will to support. Tim attended St. Ignatius College Preparatory in San Francisco, earned a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and French from Gonzaga University, and has a Master of Philosophy from San Francisco State and a Master of Policy Management from Georgetown University. Tim serves on Board of Trustees for Archbishop Riordan High School in San Francisco. Tim and his family live in San Francisco's Richmond District.
